TechConnect Aims at Bringing Together Technology Innovators and Investors at Inaugural Summit Scheduled for May 8-9 in Boston

TechConnect Expects Thousands of Top Technology Generators, Developers and Investors to Attend Event at Hynes Convention Center

February 20, 2006, CAMBRIDGE, MA—TechConnect, a global technology outreach organization dedicated to locating the world’s most promising IP and start-up companies, today announced the Inaugural TechConnect 2006 Summit. TechConnect creates a one of a kind community for innovators to demonstrate their early stage developments in various technology categories and connect them with investors and enterprises looking to bring these ideas to market. The summit will be held on May 8-9, 2006 at the Boston Hynes Convention center.

“A major challenge for both the technology and the financial communities is finding a forum in which all parties can interact and explore possibilities for future innovation,” said Matthew Laudon, Co-Founder and Director of TechConnect. “TechConnect was created to fill this void, bringing both sides together under one roof into a setting that ultimately will help significant groundbreaking concepts come to life.”

TechConnect is the first community bringing together the world’s top technology generators, developers and investors within diverse categories, such as automotive, electronics, energy, media, chemicals, food and health care. TechConnect applies the academic peer-review process to a business vetting procedure to identify only the best IP and technology global opportunities. The event, which will be held annually, fills an enormous void in the marketplace by creating a venue of commercialization for innovators and early stage companies in which these groups are able to meet face-to-face with investors and enterprises looking to find tomorrow’s technology today. TechConnect is led by an executive team with experience in community creation, publishing know-how and unrivaled event execution.

“This community is addressing a problem and challenge faced by many technology minds today, finding an outlet to showcase their ideas and potentially take them to the next level,” said Michael Pratt, TechConnect Board Member and Director of Corporate Business Development in the Office of Technology Development at Boston University. “I am excited to be part of an event that will give these individuals this opportunity and look forward to watching it all unfold.”

The TechConnect 2006 Summit runs concurrently with Nanotech 2006, Clean & Controlled Environments (in conjunction with Vicon Publishing’s Controlled Environments) and BioNano 2006. The conference will begin on May 8 and run through May 11 with an exposition featuring about 300 exhibitors. All activities will be held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
