SouthWest NanoTechnologies, Inc.
| Location: | OK, US | | Speaker: | David Arthur | | Title: | CEO | | Primary Industry: | Materials | | Executive Summary: | SouthWest NanoTechnologies makes the world’s best single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNT) using its patented CoMoCAT process. Key competitive advantages are quality, scalability, cost and customization capabilities. The company was incorporated in April 2001 to commercialize nanotube technology developed by the University of Oklahoma. SWNTs have incredible properties - strongest / stiffest fiber ever, yet flexible. More conductive than copper, or organic semiconductor, depending on chirality. Higher thermal conductivity than diamond and highly stable to heat, chemicals, UV. Unfortunately, there has been little commercial success due to the embryonic stage of SWNT supply. Inconsistent quality, high price and poor availability have hindered application development. Our mission is to jump start commercialization of nanotube enabled products by making an industry standard SWNT material available to the masses -- high quality at an affordable price ($10/g). This will have similar impact as Microsoft’s standard operating system had on the computer industry. We will also make customized (application specific, value added) nanotube products for strategic customers. We are seeking investors and partners to help implement the next phase of our commercialization strategy (scale-up, applications development). | | Venture is: | A-Round |
