NanoLambda

Location:PA, US
Speaker:Bill Choi
Title:CEO
Primary Industry:Sensor
Executive Summary:NanoLambda is developing Spectrum Sensor chip, Spectrometer-on-a-chip. Each pixel of the Spectrum Sensor chip detects a pre-defined wavelength light from an input source. This enables not only “mobile/wearable” health monitors such as non-invasive hemoglobin/glucose monitors, but also enables miniaturized sensor devices for simultaneous detection of multiple toxic gases /hazardous materials. Each material absorbs and reflects different wavelengths with a characteristic pattern: a spectral fingerprint. Optical sensing or diagnostic technology utilizing this spectral information of material has a significant advantage over others: contactless and nonintrusive. The conventional technology for spectral analysis, however, typically bench-top style, is based on spectrometer systems consisting of series of large, expensive, and delicate optical elements such as gratings. The conventional spectrum analyzer is too expensive and is also too big to be used for the miniature applications such as portable, wearable or mobile applications. In contrast to the conventional solutions, the size of NanoLambda’s Spectrum SensorTM chip can be as small as a few mmxmm. Cost is also lower than one tenth of convetional solutions. Company is currently developing prototype and expecting first revenue in 2008. By 2010 the revenue is anticipated to go beyond $100 mil.
