Executive Summary:Atomistix is technology leader in advanced simulation and product design software for materials and devices requiring nanometer precision. At this level, unique product features are accomplished through control of quantum effects across interfaces and junctions between different materials. Traditional trial-and-error experimentation does not work at the nanoscale. To gain information on a nanoscale system it is necessary to complement measurements with computer simulations. Atomistix offers the best software platform for nanoscale simulations. Applicable across industries working at the nanoscale, Atomistix has a particularly strong offering to the electronics industry. We forecast the Company’s directly addressable market opportunity will exceed $100m in 2009 with little or no direct competition at this stage. The company was founded in 2003 on the campus of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, and now has additional offices in Singapore and Palo Alto. Atomistix has sold licenses to several of the world’s largest high tech companies and leading research labs. The company has raised $6.5m of local venture capital and is now looking to raise $10m to reach CFBE. The funds will be used to establish an international sales organization and to further build out the functionality of the product.
