ChromoGenics Sweden AB

Location:Uppland, SE
Speaker:Bengt Åkerström
Primary Industry:Electrochromic materials
Executive Summary:Energy consumption and cost is top of the agenda for politicians and industry, and will be for the foreseeable future. During 1995-2003 energy consumption within EU related to air conditioning increased with an average of 17% per year. In heavy traffic and hot climate, up to 50% of a car’s fuel consumption is attributed to AC. Some studies indicate that use of smart window technology can reduce energy consumption in buildings by up to 50%. ChromoGenics’ technology directly addresses a rapidly growing market that could be worth $20 billion 2017. ChromoGenics’ foil based electrochromic technology is ideal for reducing solar heat gain in large surface applications, i.e. smart windows in buildings and transport vehicles. The Company has acquired a leading position in this field, based on its long research background, and patent protection of materials, system design and production processes ideal for large scale production. ChromoGenics’ technology is also applicable to other non-window applications associated with high business potential in the short to medium time frame. Our mission is to contribute to an improved future energy situation by providing the market new energy efficient, environmentally benign, safety enhancing solutions for applicationn in buildingd and transportation vehicles.
