Executive Summary:Simbol Mining Corp., founded in February, 2007, will be the first and leading producer of commodity minerals and metals from geothermal, oil and gas, and other brines. The company will employ proven technologies in a novel manner to extract metals such as lithium, zinc, manganese, silver and others. The first of Simbol Mining’s technologies is an exclusive license to patented silica extraction technology from the Department of Energy, and other core technologies are freely available. Initially, the company will partner with leading geothermal power producers to become the low-cost producer of minerals and metals from geothermal brines. The company expects to reach $350 million in revenues within five years primarily from lithium production, with an aggregate world market potential of $3 billion by 2015. These revenues will arise from exclusive mineral rights contracts with geothermal developers. Simbol Mining is seeking $5 million in seed and early stage venture capital to develop bench and pilot scale metal extraction facilities.
