Applied Technologies Company Ltd (ATC)
| Location: | Russian Federation, RU | | Speaker: | Alexander Temeev | | Title: | Director | | Primary Industry: | Renewable energy: sea waves energy conversion to electricity and hydrogen production by means of sea water electrolysis | | Executive Summary: | Among renewable energy sources sea waves is a very perspective energy origin since they manifest the highest specific power. Using only partly wave energy resources of the World Ocean one can considerably increase electricity production without any violations in the ecosystem.
ATC develops a unique offshore Float Wave Electric Power Station (FWEPS) as an efficient and reliable means for sea wave energy conversion, applicable in different areas. As for any oscillatory-wave process, the best facility for wave energy taking-off is oscillatory device matched with outer wave space, FWEPS is one of the promising devices for wave energy conversion to electricity, since, in accordance with the given rule, it employs exactly oscillatory drive as an electric generator actuator.
The main units of FWEPS are a mechanical wave energy converter, electric generator and energy storage. They are maintained inside the sealed capsule-float of an axially symmetric streamline shape.
Depending on mission it is possible to develop both a single modular FWEPS for output power up to 50 kW and multi-modular installation in a grid form of total capacity up to dozens of megawatts. The range of possible applications of FWEPS is rather wide in economics and life support.
