XiGo Nanotools

Location:NJ, US
Speaker:Sean Race
Primary Industry:Instrumentation
Executive Summary:XiGo Nanotools has completed, ready for sale, the first of a series of NMR based devices (patent pending) to measure important features of nanoparticles relating to their processability and performance. The devices are portable, easy to use, require no sample preparation and make a measurement in a few minutes, in comparison with conventional techniques that currently may take several hours. The measurements provide utility in a diverse range of industrial and academic markets, and product extensions could offer compelling advantages in medical diagnostics. The company is also developing RFID based “smart” single use medical devices to monitor clinical trial compliance under a contract from a pharmaceutical company. A patent is pending for this design. Successful completion of this project (targeted for Fall, 2008) could provide significant revenues for the company in 2009 and beyond. This technology also has potential in the rapidly growing field of clinical trial compliance monitoring as well as in commercial medical devices. Miniaturized sensor/RFID technology in combination with the XiGo’s portable NMR devices provides a unique platform for future devices. Capital is sought to fund inventory, personnel, product development and operations. Sales for the NMR devices have commenced, sales of medical devices commence 2009.
