| Executive Summary: | In past 5 years, a breakthrough nanofabrication technology has been developed at UofL to grow constant diameter, metallic nanoneedles, at any location and orientation. Nanoneedles can be fabricated 1-100µm long and 25-1000nm wide. Based on this technology, four categories of products called Needle-Probes have been fully developed and ready for commercialization. Needle-Probes are specialized nano-force, nano-electrochemical sensors and nano-bio tools that are used by university researchers and industrial R&D groups. Several Needle-probes have been already sold.
NaugaNeedles has already secured $400,000 from the owners, private investors, States, and private grants. This money will be used to establish the manufacturing facility, and marketing the products. The company plans on raising another $500,000 capital from Angle investors and State funding to purchase quality control equipment, hire full time CEO, Sale/Marketing Manager and Fabrication Engineer, provide marketing material, have booth in trade shows and enhance the company's website. In 2009, the company's projected revenue would be at $100K that will grow to $9.3M in 2013. The company will be self-financeable by Q2 2010. NaugaNeedles will create a dozen or so high quality jobs in Kentucky. |
