University of Gothenburg research team think limited size and weight of carbon materials would improve electronics found in electronic devices.
Carbon nanotubes were found to have high mechanical resonance frequencies, which is the same frequency range needed for mobile phones, computers, and radios. Because of the carbon materials’ lightweight and flexible nature, the use of these materials could decrease the total size and amount of power needed in the electrical circuits of devices. The next stage of the research is to determine if the graphene and CNTs can effectively produce a consistent frequency signal.
