Research centers will be part of the university’s new Life Sciences Laboratories.
The three new centers will focus on partnering with local life sciences and manufacturing companies for next generation products and services. The focus areas for each center include biosensors, big data, nutriceutical compounds, and protein research for new therapeutic targets. The money is coming out of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, which was created by the state to invest $1 Billion US over the next ten years to grow the life sciences cluster in Massachusetts.
