Adoption of nanotechnology into the everyday continues to grow
More than 1,000 nanotechnology-enabled products are currently available in the global consumer marketplace, this according to the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies (PEN). A recent update to the group’s three+ year inventory reflects the increasing adoption of nanoscale technologies in everything from non-stick cookware and lighter, stronger tennis racquets, to more advanced medical devices, such as wearable sensors that monitor posture.
Fitness and wellness items continue to dominate the PEN’s inventory list, representing more than half of the products on their list. The updated inventory represents products from more than two dozen countries.
