NanoString Technologies To Partner with MIT and Harvard on Molecular Networks Project

Partnership looks to broaden understanding of molecular networks in biological processes

NanoString Technologies is a private life sciences company that is marketing an advanced digital barcoding system for single molecular detection and counting in biological samples. The company is looking to also develop their system for use in molecular diagnostics. The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard will collaborate with the company over the next three years to research molecular networks, and also explore how NanoString’s gene expression technology could be applied to improve R&D and clinical research. The press release notes: “This wide-reaching collaboration with the Broad Institute provides further validation for the strength of the NanoString technology platform and its promise for enabling research studies that would otherwise be difficult or cost-prohibitive,” said Wayne Burns, Acting Chief Executive Officer for NanoString Technologies.
