President of Taiwan Calls for Swift Passing of Innovation Bill

Taiwan’s Industrial Innovation Bill would encourage all industries to create and innovate
President Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan, in his weekly online journal entry, encouraged Taiwanese businesses to put more resources into R&D so that the country can continue to remain competitive in the global economy. The President noted that all industries, whether they are high-tech driven or not, can apply innovation to their product lines and services to create competitive advantage. The proposal industrial innovation bill is expected to benefit not just the country’s manufacturing industry, but also service and agricultural industries. The bill would include R&D tax credits for businesses and tax incentives for every job the company creates in the country.
