Three Solar Companies Receive Over $4M in Department of Energy (DoE) Grants

Applied Nanotech, Microlink, and Ultrasonic Technologies focus on advanced solar PV and manufacturing
The three companies and their projects were selected for awards under the Phase III category, "Solar Technologies: Lowering the Cost of Photovoltaics." The DoE distributed a total of $57 million in new grants to companies in the clean energy sector as part of its Small Business Phase III Xlerator program. The awards range from $500,000 to $3 million. The Phase III Xlerator program is a first for DoE, and builds on the funding levels provided to small businesses under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
