UK Announces Bold Plans for “Silicon Roundabout” to Equal Silicon Valley, California

Prime Minister David Cameron announces plans to turn London’s East End into a global center for technology and innovation
The plans are to turn Olympic Park after 2012 into a technological hub. The government will also review current British laws as they relate to intellectual property, and plans to implement a new visa program for entrepreneurs who want to start, expand, or invest their business in the UK. Mr. Cameron was quoted in the British press, “If you have a great business idea, and you receive serious investment from a leading investor, you are welcome to set up your business in our country.” Investors for Olympic Park include technology and financial powerhouses--Barclays, Cisco, Facebook, and Google. Imperial College, London, and Loughborough University will also have space in the Park.
