X-Fab deal expands its MEMS capabilities to augment existing foundry services
X-Fab purchases 25.5% share of MEMS Foundry Itzehoe GnH (MFI), with an option to become majority shareholder in the future. MFI is a spin out venture from the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology. MFI will now receive access to X-Fab’s advanced analog and MEMS device manufacturing techniques. X-Fab announced earlier its plans to expand its 8-inch MEMS center.
