MesoCoat Completes Major Milestone: Cladding Inside Diameter of Steel Pipe with Anti-Corrosion and Wear Resistent Alloys

MesoCoat, a nanotechnology materials science company, was selected to present at the 2011 TechConnect-Nanotech Venture Forum in Boston.

MesoCoat plans to complete qualification with several major oil companies by the third quarter of 2012.

Mr. Andrew Sherman, CEO of MesoCoat, Inc., notes in the release, "We think CermaClad™ will replace weld overlay and laser cladding as the number one choice for metallurgical cladding and it will provide an alternative to mechanically clad lined pipe, which is widely used in the industry, by providing a faster, better and cheaper metallurgical cladding solution."

CermaClad™ has been developed in collaboration with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. MesoCoat's near term plans include becoming a qualified vendor to leading oil & gas, mining, and engineering management companies, and the company also plans to complete construction of their new manufacturing facility in Ohio.

Recently, NorTech, in partnership with Crain's Cleveland Business, announced the winners of its annual NorTech Innovation Awards program, which honors new, leading-edge technologies transforming Northeast Ohio's economy. MesoCoat's CermaClad™ was one of the winners of the Innovation Awards.
