TechConnect Summit 2008 Featured Largest US Showcase for IPs and Early Stage Companies in Nano Tech, Clean Tech, and Life Sciences

Corporate Partnering, Technology Matchmaking, and Funding Opportunities Were The Highlights of the Summit in Boston

Last month, the TechConnect Summit was held at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, MA. More than 150 organizations and early stage companies showcased their prescreened, advanced technologies or early stage company profiles specifically in the nanotech, cleantech and biotech/medical devices sectors to attendees from around the world. During the Summit, dozens of presenters of early-stage companies and technologies met with large corporations and investors to match-up funding or partnering opportunities.

Attendees and presenters at the Summit also heard exclusively from large corporations—Fortune 500 companies and global private companies involved in cleantech, nanotech, and/or life sciences-- about their present and future technology needs, as well as their technology investment areas of interest. Companies participating in Boston included BASF, Boeing, GE, Honda, Lockheed Martin, Medtronic, Merck, Omron, Sanyo and many others.

The annual TechConnect Summit is known as one of the world's largest events for pre-screened deal flow, making it ideal for universities and early stage companies looking for funding or partnerships, investors looking for new opportunities, and corporations looking to invite highly qualified scientists, engineers and researchers to help them develop solutions to specific needs.

“This year’s Summit featured more than a dozen industry tracks for IPs and Early Stage Companies, ranging from Renewable Energy to Nano Materials to Biotech & Pharma,” noted Jennifer Rocha, TechConnect Program Director. “As we look forward to 2009, we will focus on increasing the matchmaking opportunities for attendees and companies, and further enhance the program so that it captures current and future market needs in the dynamic areas of nanotechnology, clean technology, sustainable industry, and the life sciences.”

The 2009 TechConnect Summit will take place May 3-7, 2009, in Houston TX, and will once again be co-located with NSTI Nanotech and CSI CleanTechnology conferences, which provides all attendees with unique synergies between the conferences that one can only find at our event.
