An inkjet printed NO2 sensor operating under room temperature and low humidity environment

A room temperature operation NO2 sensor base on polypyrrole (PPy) /AZO (5% Al-doped ZnO) sensing material was developed. For the environmental monitoring, the ambient factor effect for NO2 detection was further discussed. Based on the results, oxygen plays an important role for NO2 sensing, which can improve the reaction between NO2 and PPy. Furthermore, PPy/AZO based sensor performed good performance till RH35%, which is verified the application of sensor for low humidity environment monitoring. In summary, the in-situ polymerized PPy sensing material by inkjet-printing technology is a promising NO2 sensor for environmental monitoring.
