The novelty of the last 3 years of research is on the fate of NPs made of poly-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) and engineered with g7, a glycopeptide that enhances BBB crossing capability, in the living mouse brain. PLGA is a polymer used in several biomedical devices for humans, such as implants and microparticles, in view of its high biodegradability and the approval by the American Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) and European Medicine Agency (EMA).We develop multifunctional nanoparticle based on PLGA polymer engineered with ligands as i) fluorescent markers (Rhodamine) for imaging; ii) loaded drugs for therapeutic aims; iii) glycopeptide for blood-brain barrier crossing (e.g., g7 peptide; iv) antibodies (mAb) to target specific cell populations
