Defense Innovation Challenges Announced for Austin TX-Technology Submissions due August 14

July 29, 2015 05:41 PM EST By: Jennifer Rocha

Join the Nation’s largest innovation prospecting program aligned with military and warfighter needs.

The Defense Energy Technology Acceleration Challenges (DITAC) are designed to deliver state-of-art Energy, Cyber, Medical, Materials and Systems technologies to innovation prospectors from the Department of Defense (DOD), Industry and Investment.  The Defense Energy Challenges culminate in a physical summit and showcase in Austin Texas, JW Marriott, December 1-3, 2015.

In collaboration with the National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL), these challenge programs represent a new acceleration model to rapidly prospect, vet and fund state-of-art technologies in alignment with war-fighter needs.  Through a recently approved $100M Transaction Authority awarded to NSTXL by the DOD IACs, this DOD Transaction Authority is specifically designed for rapid prototype funding of technologies that address the military’s needs, while allowing for simultaneous corporate or private funding opportunities.

“This is truly a unique technology accelerator model for the country.” said Matthew Laudon, CEO, TechConnect, “Through our NSTXL partnership, we are assembling the Nation’s strongest concentration of DOD, Corporate and Investment leadership, along with a new funding vehicle to support early-stage technology commercialization.  The DOD has traditionally been a key leader in innovation, delivering dual-use breakthroughs for both the military and civilian industry.   Our goal is to help the military out-pace the increasing rate of innovation by matching the best-tech solutions with key military and corporate problems-sets.”

Technology Submissions are now open through August 14th.  If you have a commercially viable early stage technology in any of the broadly defined domain areas of Energy & Resilience, Cyber & Security, Medical & Biotech, Advanced Materials and Defense Systems, we encourage you to submit your technology for review and program/showcase consideration.
