Ghent University, BE and BASF Plant Science, DE Announce Plant Biotechnology Agreement

University and company come together to create a new technology to identify genes and gene networks that control crop yields

The project known as TopYield will study and test the large natural variability of plant growth under several scenarios involving yield and weather conditions. The TopYield project is expected to run several years. Approximately 20 full-time researchers of the VIB Department for Plant Systems Biotechnoloy at Ghent University will work on the project, and it is the largest collaboration to date for the university. The research project is being funded by the Flemish government agency for innovation by science and technology (IWT).
