Rolith, 2012 TechConnect World Venture Forum Presenter, Receives $5 Million Investment

Start up nanotech company is focused on energy applications.

The $5 million in Series A funding for Rolith came from DFJ VTB Capital Aurora and AGC America Inc. Rolith has developed a low cost nanostructured coatings fabrication technology based on a proprietary method of large area high throughput nanolithography. The target applications are light trapping layers for solar cells, light extraction layers for LEDs, nanostructured TCOs and polarizers for displays and nanostructured electrodes for batteries. The company will use the latest funding round to expand its engineering staff and increase R&D activities. Rolith was formed by Dr. Boris Kobrin, Prof. Mark Brongersma and Julian Zegelman in 2008.
