Micron to Acquire Swiss Chip Maker

Numonyx manufactures flash memory for mobile devices
The last acquisition for Micron was back in 2008, when the company purchased a Taiwan company that made dynamic RAM. The value of the Numonyx acquisition pushed the total value of the swiss chip maker to over $1B US. With this acquisition, Micron gains a better gross profit margin since it will now provide more of the main components for cellular phones. In addition to adding to its computer memory capabilities, Micron is also in the process of developing novel solar technologies with an Australian company.
